A useful review should help you decide.

What can this tool do for your work? What will it cost? Where are its limits? These are the questions to bring to every review on The AI Take.

Check what the review is based on

Product documentation, pricing pages, and changelogs can establish what a vendor offers. They cannot establish how well a tool performs on your task. User reports can add context, but one person's experience is not a benchmark.

We use AI to help organize source research and prepare drafts. New generated drafts require editorial approval before publication. Treat a review as source research unless it includes a documented test: the task, product version or plan, date, and observed result. A featured placement or star score alone is not evidence of a hands-on test.

Start with the task, then compare the tradeoffs

A coding assistant, a video editor, and a workflow builder solve different problems. Use the category filters to narrow your search, then compare the features you need, export options, usage limits, and reasons a tool might not suit you.

The AI Stack Picker makes a shortlist from your answers and our directory. It is a starting point for comparison; it does not test the tools or guarantee a fit.

Check the price before you subscribe

Prices, included credits, annual billing terms, and free-plan limits can change. Check the vendor's current pricing page and the date on the review. A page update date records an edit; it does not mean every claim was retested that day.

When a guide includes an affiliate link, we label it. We may earn a commission if you buy through it. Check the vendor's terms before paying; the link does not establish whether the product will work for you.

What our reviews still need to earn

We are improving the evidence behind existing reviews. Not every entry has a documented hands-on test or a complete source trail. We do not claim that the entire directory has been personally tested, independently verified, or checked on a fixed schedule.

Our standard for new reviews is a clear use case, source links, specific limitations, and a conclusion supported by the evidence. Missing evidence should remain an open question.

    Help us correct the record

Found an outdated price, broken link, or claim that does not match the product? Send the review URL, the detail to check, and a supporting source through our contact page. Specific corrections help us improve the review and its underlying research.
